Monday -

Wild Explores Club:
aka Hiking Club to find a specfic topic a week
North Lake Nature Center. Explored finding spiders and spider webs to test the differences between real and Memorex! We found quite a few finds on our nature walk today. A caterpillar, millipede, cottonmouth, huge bird nest, muscadine berries, lots of different spiders! Elderberry trees, pine trees, red-eared sliders  🐢turtles, and friends.

Before our hike:
We went and explored Pelican Park for skate ramps. The children rode scooters. There we studied Spelling using the book Abecka Grade 5! Science planned for our hike using Hands-On Minds-On Science Animals: Memorex! Scout read chapter four "English Has Changed" from the book Life of Fred -DOGS!
After the hike:
We went to PJ's to cool down with water and a coffee. There we did the rest of the days school work. We worked on drawing puppets, mirror image art projects, DinosaurGirly Read book Volume 2 of Viking Quest.  Scout practiced his handwriting and sentence structure using LifePac and PACE.

While waiting to pick up daddy after work:
Scout also took a Test in his LifePac History & Geography Grade 3 Unit 4 Section 1 workbook pages 15-16. Scout also did a work page in his LifePac Language Arts Grade 4 unit 7 Section 1 workbook p. 11 Plural Forms of Singular Nouns. Both children then worked on Teaching Textbooks 4. DinosaurGal is making up lessons with wrong answers. Scout is getting caught up on lessons for teaching textbooks 4; he is 10 lessons behind. On the ride home, both children played on their tablets and told daddy about there day. They played two different spelling games, farming games, and a math game.

Tuesday -

Tuesday was a day of very little focus skills. Thus we watched the entire weeks lessons in one sitting.

In the morning we attended a performance at our local Library and watched and listen to Samba music and learned about its history.
Afterward, we took 3 dogs for a car ride around the block. Let's sum up the day by saying we had a drawn-out day of snuggling, giggling, and under fuzzy pet filled the day.

Wednesday.

We started the morning of waking up late and rushing to drop Of my husband to work. Made it in time. How I have no idea we didn't speed but we did roll out of bed and all four of us were in the car and dressed in under 10 minutes.
We attended a screening at a theater in Covington, LA. The summer movie program cost just $1 a person. We watched Ice Age Collision Course. Honestly, I would be content never watching that movie again. I was not a fan of the content being directed to young children. I give the producer props for the Concepts of there creativeness though.
Afterward, we attended a park meet up with some friends. The children played in a splash pad at Con. park

Thursday involved some driving to carpooling for the day. We picked up a friend and our cousin and attended an event after driving through multiple cities of stops be arrived at our destination 4 hours later.
Cop A Donut in Kenner hosted a make a donut class. Children got to roll out homemade dough cut it was a circle cutter and send it off. While fresh donuts were being cooked the 6 children played on top of a floor with one of those projector games. Once the donuts were cooked the children decorated a large donut each. Not bad for $6.00 a child.  This place also does birthday parties. The grandmother also homeschools.

Afterward, we went to Lafreniere Park. The children enjoyed one specific area of the playground the most and they spent the entire 30  minutes jumping onto a bar that slides across like a zip line. Then we went and feed the turtles, squirrels, and other wildlife at the park. The children all seemed to enjoy this most. They each seemed to find their favorites tp feed talk about and discuss with each other. I loved this moment in time. Afterward, we visited a memorial in the park to my cousin,  aunt, and grandfather.

Later we embarked on a trip to Burger King where the children enjoyed a round of french fries, giggles, and the concept of the skill of cocktail mixing through an automated dispensing machine. Lol. And this was the place that something memorable happened. My cousin spoke to me and we had a conversation.  This is a major ordeal, his mama was so close to me as a child but over the last 13 years, he has always been so quiet when around me.  I got back in the car thinking maybe I should have stayed in that restaurant longer just to see if he would speak more. But I said a silent prayer and thanked God for my brief yet memorial conversation.

Afterward, we all went and visited with my Aunt. My children's great Aunt, and my cousin's Grandmother. There we all sat around and had a typical Louisiana style conversation.  Aka multiple people talking at once and understanding each other and then adults talking while children silently listened. Lol. Did I mention my cousin spoke to me again this evening and even sat next to me? Its okay hun if you ever are reading this know that I too was once just as shy as you are today.

Near the end of the day. My husband asked for my help to draw him a picture for his recruit class. Which lead to me coming up with ideas with my mother. While on the phone with my husband. I then got to watch my mother in her natural setting of "ART". Honestly, I was enjoying spending time with my mama and watching her enjoy her self so much.  See photos of the end results of our creation.

I miss doing art projects like this mom. We should do them more often.
Today was an amazing day.  Signing off at 11:29 pm

Friday through Sunday the Children spent time with there Grandma, Aunt, Uncle, and Cousins!
