Classical Conversations Cycle 1 Week 1 & 2

We are combining weeks 1 & 2 only for this week. Future posts likely will have lessons on different posts.

Below is our daily planner for Classical Conversations Cycle 1 Week 1& 2 borrowed and remade based on the information found over at essentialhomestead & halfahundredacrewood.  We review foundations for 60 minutes a day.  We do supplement with other curriculum.

• Bible/History – Read Ten Commandments Story 
• Timeline – Review timeline cards
• Latin – Recite noun cases or sing song from CC connected CD
• Science – Recite classifications of living things (sing song from CD
  • Watch Video – Classification of Living Things

Day 2: Week 2

• Bible – Exodus 20:1,2
  • Handmotions Video
• History – Sing song from weekly CD
  • Make your own clay tablets using clay or play-doh
• Timeline – Review timeline cards (pick a card and read the back or recite an interesting fact to your child)
• Latin – Recite noun cases or sing song 
• Science – Recite  5 kingdoms of living things
  • Play the characteristics online game

Day 3: Week 1

• Bible/History/Art – Art Lesson on Ten commandments
• Timeline – Watch timeline video on YouTube
• English – Recite preposition definition
  • Watch Preposition Video
• Math –  Skip count song from CD 
  • Skip count mazes
• Geography – Intro to drawing the map
  • Find Fertile Crescent on map

Day 3: Week 2

• Timeline – Watch timeline video 
• English – Listen to Preposition song from Timeline and more CD or
  • Watch preposition song and hand motions video
• Math –  Skip count 3 & 4’s song from Weekly CD 
  • Skip count mazes or
  • Math is Fun Times Table
• Geography – Intro to drawing the map
  • Find Assyrian Empire on map
• Art – Draw mirror images 

Day 4: Week 1

• Bible/History – Watch 10 Commandments Video
• Timeline – Mix up timeline cards and put them in order
• Latin – Sing Noun Cases Song via YouTube
• Science – Recite classifications of living things (sing-song)
  • Read Lesson 3 – The World of Plants
• Art – Draw basic shapes using these printables

Day 4: Week 2

• Bible – Exodus 20:1,2
  • Learn the Commandments Video
• History – Listen to song from Weekly CD
• Timeline – Watch timeline video 
  • Mix up timeline cards and put them in order (Pick a card and read the back or recite an interesting fact to your child)
• Latin – Recite noun cases or sing song 
• Science – Recite  5 kingdoms of living things
• Experiment:  #54 or #56 from 201 Experiments

Day 5: Week 1

• Bible/History – 
• Timeline – Watch timeline video 
• English – Recite preposition definition
  • Under, Over, by the Clover. What is a Preposition? Find a book similar to this
• Math –  Skip count song from CD
  • Multiplication practice worksheet
• Geography – Find Fertile Crescent on map
• Prepare for weekly presentation

Day 5: Week 2

• English – Watch preposition song and hand motions video
• Math –  Skip count 3 & 4’s song from Weekly CD
  • Multiplication practice worksheet or
  • Math is Fun Times Table
• Geography – Find Assyrian Empire on map
• Art – Draw mirror images or
  • Define:  What is mirror image?  What is line of symmetry?
• Prepare for weekly presentation
• Review game
• Review sheets
