I can not take credit for this idea. Another homeschooling family invited us to do the following:
You will find individual "walking tour" maps of each leg of the trip, with approximate mileage. If your kids are motivated, they can obviously complete more than one leg in one day. This is intended to get your children out and be active, but also have them track their progress on each map, and look up the landmarks they pass. We plan to schedule a Zoom call for the kids to talk about one landmark on their route, we likely will do this toward the end of the two week period, maybe the end of May.
If you would like to reward your kids for completing the run, I have included a link for some reward coupons or you can make your own (Printable Coupons for Kids. I am really excited to get started. Let me know how y'all are doing with it and of course, if there are any improvements that need to be made, please let me know.
